Contributions to the 1619 Project
"Contributions to the 1619 Project."
The 1619 Project, led by The New York Times, is a call to acknowledge our collective history and understanding of the year 1619, the 400th anniversary of the beginning of American slavery, as the “true founding” of our nation; and serves to highlight the “consequences of slavery and the contributions of black Americans at the very center of the story we tell ourselves about who we are.” Read Tiya Miles’ contributions to The 1619 Project.
