Tiya will moderate a discussion to explore “the histories and significance of objects made by enslaved and free Black artists and craftspeople through presentations and conversation with a range of experts.”
Learn more about the importance of objects from The Met collection as well as those featured in Fighting for Freedom: Black Craftspeople and the Pursuit of Independence, a collaborative exhibition organized by the Black Craftspeople Digital Archive and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Museum.
